✂️ Japanese Kiri-e Papercutting Workshop

Join Ping for an introduction to kiri-e, the traditional Japanese art of papercutting.

During the session, Ping will share some of the basics of this tradition, which originated in China and was later adapted in Japan, where handheld paper-cutting tools allow for particularly intricate and delicate details.

Together, we'll explore different techniques while cutting seasonal and auspicious Japanese motifs from origami paper. Ping will also share ideas on how to mount and display the pieces you create.

The workshop is open to ages 13 and above, due to the use of sharp cutting tools.

No previous experience is needed — just bring your curiosity, creativity and willingness to experiment. 🌿

🎞 Welcome to this special edition, where we will host Ælf for the live premiere of the visual album "The Prophecy"!

A work dedicated by the artist to all those who fight against injustice, oppression, abuse, and inequality.

🎼 This cinematic and musical experience transports us to a dark, electronic environment, with themes of fantasy, mythology, and technology. It traverses various historical periods of humanity and narrates the story of a God destined to rule planet Earth, but who was betrayed by his creators.

🎤 Ælf, also known as Diego Sousa, is a Franco-Italian multidisciplinary musician and visual artist, originally from New Zealand and currently based in the Algarve.

He released his debut album, "The Prophecy," in 2023 and, after a three-year creative process, recently presented his respective visual album. This is a work created, directed, and edited by himself, making him one of the few Portuguese artists to achieve such a feat.
